Whoever has ears to hear ought to hear

The parable of the sower demonstrates each stage of those who hear the Word. Aside from those who ultimately reject it, a follower of Christ first hears the message, assimilates it and then acts upon it.  What kind of soil are we?  Jesus, in his mercy, plants numerous seeds in the desire that many of them will take root and grow.  What chokes out the growth of the seeds Jesus seeks to plant in us?  What do we need to do to cultivate the soil of our lives?
