Here am I, Lord; I come to do your will
The psalm for today’s liturgy is a profound prayer of giving oneself to God. In the beginning of the psalm, David recognizes he is in the pit of destruction. It is the Lord who rescues him, setting his feet upon rock. David, realizing he has nothing else to give, responds with “Behold I come.” Often, we find it difficult to believe that this is what God wants of us. Do we delight in the Lord? Are we living a life that is “for the greater glory of God?”
