“Come down soon, I want to stay at your house.” Lk. 19:1-10
Luke today tells us that beautiful passage of the conversion of Zacchaeus, the tax collector, frowned upon and rejected for the abuse of tax actions. Once again, the Lord Jesus engages in an encounter, this time with Zachaeus, and takes the initiative to enter his house, even if it is frowned upon and others do not approve of it. The important thing is the person, not his sin and, above all, how to rescue him. “Today salvation has come to this house…for the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.”
Let us allow ourselves to be invited by the Lord, let us draw near and open our ears and hearts to listen to his invitation to walk with him, let us let ourselves be touched in order to convert and thus enjoy his salvation.
