“The Kingdom of God is within you.” Lk. 17:20-25

The Pharisees approach Jesus and ask him about the coming of the Kingdom. They were expectant; they believed that it would be with great demonstrations, like a king surrounded by soldiers and horses. Do we also seek kingdom-building today in flashy spectacles, miracles, and even magical superstitions? Jesus is forceful in expressing that the kingdom of God has already arrived and is among you, it is manifested in each of your actions of closeness, healing, lifting and compassion, freeing from all ties of sin and oppression. Only where there are gestures of kindness and mercy with those who are the little ones, will the kingdom of God be present.
