“And He sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal”

(Luke 9:1-6)

Just as Jesus sent the Twelve, with the mission of proclaiming the Kingdom of God, Jesus calls all of us who by virtue of Baptism become missionary disciples, to bring the Gospel to the world (E.G., 120). The instructions that Jesus gives them for the journey become the invitation to live his attitudes: 1. Jesus sends them out two by two (Mk 6:7); Walking in community (as a Church in synodality) means mutual support and makes credible the testimony of the disciple. 2. Jesus gives them authority and power to heal and liberate. Through Baptism, we receive faith from the Holy Spirit and his seven gifts 3. With nothing for the way is the style of Jesus that is marked by the choice of poverty and freedom; 4. The mission will not be so easy, some will accept and welcome us, others will reject us, and without judgment, we will seek another place to sow the Kingdom.
