“A lighted lamp is placed on a lampstand” (Luke 8:6-18)

Jesus is the Light, which is kindled in us when we receive his Word. It illuminates our path, increases our faith and hope. If we allow ourselves to be transformed, it will give a new meaning and value to our lives, based on the values of the Kingdom. When we put into practice these values of justice, humility, charity, service, solidarity, among others, we will be giving witness to his Light, which will be enriched and increased, to the extent that we share it and give it to others. But when we do not know how to listen to the Word, when we only hear it, and we do not make an effort to understand its message, much less try to put it into practice, our spiritual life is impoverished, and our faith weakens to the point of losing it.
