^“Blessed are they…” (Luke 6:20-26)

The term “Blessed” means happiness in the Bible, and every human being, by nature, longs and seeks to be happy.  But it is not so easy because we generally seek it from outside and not from within ourselves. Jesus knows what we need to be happy, as God himself desires us to be…, so He gives us the perfect formula, gives us his own life plan and proposes it to us through the sermon on the Beatitudes… a way of living from the inside out: Blessed shall those be… who hear the cry of the poor, those who are merciful, humble, and work for peace. But, on the contrary, sadness and unhappiness will be the misfortune of those who are indifferent to the pain of their brothers and sisters, blinded by selfishness, greed and pride.

Am I happy? Why yes or why no? Do I make others happy, especially the most helpless?
