“Woe to you!” Mt. 11:20-24
Today Jesus complains when He sees the lack of faith in three cities in which He worked many miracles: Chorazin, Bethsaida and Capernaum.
They are cities that put their security in the progress they made and not in the experience of a God who became flesh among them and who with his words and deeds saved many.
Let us ask ourselves: What has Jesus done in us, how do we respond to his love and mercy? Do we continue to be locked in our endless search for power, to have and to know, or do we open ourselves to God’s transforming action that moves us to give ourselves to others?
May Mary, in the title of Mount Carmel, help us to live life in such a way that Jesus, when He sees us, is not sad, but smiles.
