It is so easy to judge others, to evaluate them, trying to account for what they do or say. We haven’t been able to put an end to the comparisons, the prying questions, and even the envy. The end of the Fourth Gospel testifies to this; Peter, who is already considered responsible for Jesus’ project, also falls into this curiosity about Jesus’ relationship with “the beloved disciple”. And Jesus answers him with almost the same words: “What is that to you?” Up to this point in the journey that we have traveled and from our paschal experience, let us evaluate our capacity to build community with people who are different from us, with those who are very different, with those who are opposed to our way of being or thinking. Let us leave the Lord and these people in the profound freedom of their intimacy with God and with others.
