“That man is an instrument whom I have chosen”
Today’s topic has surely been heard and read many times. This is Saul, a man passionate about the traditions of the Jewish religion, a persecutor of the Church, who risks everything to combat this new movement that offers a new image of God. Well, here we have a story that could be titled: “The Surprises of God’s Grace”…a story that offers much about which to pray – because our prayer is based on the lives of the people—with the background of listening, ecumenism, synodality; but above all, discovering and appreciating what God can do in people who open themselves to grace like Saul and Ananias…
With Paul’s conversion, the way was opened for the evangelization of the Gentiles, of us to whom, through different and mysterious paths, the Good News of Jesus has come. Let us give thanks today in a very special way, for that chain of evangelizers who have been the instruments though whom this great and mysterious gift of faith in the God of Jesus has reached us.
