“My faithfulness and mercy will be with you” Ps. 88
Our inner self is in a continuous relationship with the outside. The word is a means of entering into a relationship with the outside, it has a power that can build or destroy. God and people live invisibly within us through the words they express to us. Their voices are inside: They shout, they talk, they laugh, they advise us, they criticize us, they judge us. Thanks to this faculty, we are mindful of their words, their advice, and their recriminations. The others, the Other, accompany us in our most intimate solitude. Often, we have them more present than when they are adjacent to us. Let the words of the psalmist resound deep in our hearts: “My faithfulness and mercy will be with you.” Let us experience the confidence that God walks beside us, that we are not alone.
