THE MOST HOLY NAME OF JESUS

“This is the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world” Jn. 1:29-34

John the Baptist shares with us the newness he discovers in Jesus: “Behold the Lamb of God, He who takes away the sin of the world!” A significant expression that we continually repeat in the Eucharist. Pope Francis, in response to this expression, has invited us on several occasions to “begin again and again on our journey of faith”, thatis, not to take for granted that we already know everything about Jesus. At the beginning of the year, let us set ourselves a goal: to get to know Jesus better. St. Ignatius, in the second week of the Spiritual Exercises, proposes that we ask for inner knowledge of the Lord in order to love Him more and better serve Him. May we bring this petition into our prayer every day, that we may be silent and deepen our knowledge and love for him. IIn this way, we will be able to tell and bear witness to who Jesus is for us.
