“The Word Became Flesh” Jn. 1:1-18
Merry Christmas!
We celebrate the feast of God’s nearness. St. John expresses it beautifully: “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” God has become flesh, He has identified himself with our frailty, He suffers our problems, He is one of us. He has become incarnate. That is why we can find God in nature, in the world and among the men and women who inhabit the earth.
Christmas is something that happens in the heart of every human being. Those who welcome God from their innermost being find light to walk, strength to fight, joy to live.
Approaching the manger and contemplating God becoming a CHILD, overwhelms us, invites us to adore in silence… The Mystery of a God incarnate in someone so small and, from there, radiating love, light, hope, salvation…what does it mean to us?
Let us ask God for the grace to know how to recognize him present in the small and simple things of life. May He always be our light.
