Today’s story gives us a very valuable lesson for our lives. Every mission we carry out must be framed in the context of gratuitousness. It is the evangelical attitude that Jesus teaches us and that does not seek any kind of external recognition. Our pay is the satisfaction that we have done what we had to do and with the degree of excellence that it deserved; that is our best reward. Let us ask the Lord for the grace to maintain a joyful attitude in service, that our stimulus may be the ability to give one hundred percent of what we have received with total gratuity.
