“Master, what good must I do to obtain eternal life? Matthew 19:16-22

The young man who asks for eternal life does not accept the path of poverty that Jesus proposes to him because his wealth gives him a false security and keeps him concerned about taking care of his own interests. There are also poor people with the mentality of the rich, the desire for wealth enslaves us by the mentality of consumerism, with no time for service to others. Let us ask ourselves: what does it cost me to leave to follow the Lord in my daily life? Do you know someone who has left everything to follow them? Give thanks to God for those lives.
