“The Spirit will speak for you.” Matthew 10:16-23.
In this environment of following the Lord; He warns us that it is not easy. Moments of persecution and threat will come, because the prophetism of the Gospel carves, confronts and unmasks structures of power that kill life and destroy communities where fraternity is witnessed and where life and dignity are put before power and having, creating the misery of dominating and possessing. But the Lord teaches us how to act: “Be shrewd as serpents and simple as doves.” “Watch out for people!” They will hand you over and bring you to justice. But be confident. I will give you the “Spirit of your Father.” He will speak for you.” Let us face trials with strength of spirit, knowing that He will make us triumphant. As proclaimers of the Good News, do we do so with courage, or do fears hold us back?
