“The crowd praised God.” Matthew 9:1-8.
Faced with the forgiveness of the sins of the paralytic, and the questioning of the lawyers, Jesus responds; Which is easier to say, “Your sins are forgiven” or to say, “get up and walk”? For the Son of Man has power to forgive sins. The crowd saw him and gave glory to God. It is the invitation to review our trust in the Lord, that he can lift us up from our paralysis, those that cause us sadness, loneliness, fears and depression. Turned to God’s love, we can be prophetic witnesses of compassion, so that we can be heralds of the Lord’s unconditional love. Does our witness to God’s love lift up the fallen?
