Mt. 10:26-33   “Do not be afraid.”

In the context of what we have been experiencing since the beginning of this year, it is very good for us to listen to the entire text of today’s Gospel. To contemplate the serenity of Jesus in the face of the difficulties involved in the proclamation of the Gospel, his absolute freedom to speak without fear, convinced that there is nothing hidden that is not known. Jesus, in sending the disciples to announce the imminent arrival of the Kingdom, speaks to them of difficulties, persecutions, destruction, but assures them that they are not alone, that the Father, the Lord of the harvest who has chosen and sent them, watches over each one by name, and nothing will happen to them unless He wills it. Let us allow ourselves today to be infected by that serenity that Jesus instills, certain that this tragic and uncertain history we are living is marked by the action of God who always leads us on paths of salvation.
