Mt. 6:7-15 “Your Father already knows what you need before you ask Him.”
Jesus today invites us to review the way we pray; he knows that we always tend to pray telling God what we need, asking Him to grant it to us because we trust Him completely; but it is not the many words that make God listen to us, it is more our attitude before God. That is why Jesus invites us to pray with the Lord’s Prayer: that prayer that we so often repeat almost without becoming aware of what we are saying. Let us try today to “feel and taste” that prayer that can be a whole treatise on what it is to pray, what it is to feel before a God who is Father and welcomes us as children; a God who knows what we need in the daily life; a God who knows we fail and forgives us, but wants to hear our commitment to forgive as He forgives us.
