“And whoever loves me will be loved by my Father.” Jn. 14:21-26
A popular saying is: “Actions speak louder than words”. Jesus insists forcefully: “He who receives me and keeps my commandments, loves me.”
To love Jesus by doing what pleases him is to show him how important He is in our lives. And God the Father, who glorifies himself in that beloved Son, is filled with joy and pleasure towards the one who loves his Son. As happens to a mother or a father, who feels a special affection for those who treat their children with love. To love Jesus is to enter into close communion with the Father. This is another promise of Jesus, which fills us with joy. Allow God to take over our being: what better thing can happen to us?
