“We are mere servants.” Lk. 17:7-10
Today’s Gospel presents us with an example that is apparently strong…it is the insinuation that Jesus advocates and defends naiveté and blind servility. On the contrary, it is the proposal for those of us who collaborate with the Lord, in the construction of his Kingdom. It is a matter of living the gift of self-giving from generous giving, especially with the most excluded, without expecting rewards or honors, only seeking to give oneself from the gratuitous love of children of God. It means to live the mission from: “To be poor servants, and we have done what we had to do”. Do we cultivate a faith that springs from the gratuitousness of the love experienced and as something that enriches us from the sum of acts of solidarity?
Are we living the mission with a sense of gratuitousness and generous giving?
