“They were amazed at his teaching, because…, his words had authority.” Lk. 4:31-37

Today’s Gospel passage is a continuation of the one we prayed yesterday. He tells us that those who received Jesus’ teaching “were amazed . . . because his words had authority.” Today we can ask ourselves when we listen to the word of Jesus: what feelings does it leave in us, how do we feel after listening to this message? What does the Lord invite us to do through His Word? Let us let his message resound in a moment of silence and let us respond from the depths of our being to these questions, or to others that may arise, as we try to discern his invitation. Let us remember that He is our light and our salvation (Ps. 26).
