“We were encouraged about you because of your faith.” (1 Thess.3:6-13)

Timothy’s return (v.6) with the good news he brings him from Thessalonica, causes Paul to burst into an emotional thanksgiving. From evangelizer, Paul becomes evangelized. “We feel revived by your fidelity to the Lord.” That community gives new life and joy to an apostle who was going through a period of loneliness and discouragement. And he tells them that he wants to return “to complete what is lacking in their faith.” Perhaps Paul needs more from them now… In any case, let us pray today with that reciprocity that is created in the work of evangelization, which we have surely experienced more strongly in some fields than in others, but which is always a reality. “The poor evangelize us”, We have learned to recognize and thank them. Let us pass through the heart in our prayer today, that which the poor have contributed to our life of faith.
