Fifth Week of Easter

“Tell the wonders of the Lord!” Ps. 95.

Today the liturgy brings us Psalm 95. The Psalm begins with a festive invitation to praise God, an invitation that immediately opens up to a universal perspective: “Sing to the Lord, all the earth”. This universal openness on the part of a small people, crushed between great empires, is very significant. These people know that their Lord is the God of the universe and that “the gods of the Gentiles are an appearance.”
