Fifth Week of Easter

“This is what I command you: to love one another.”  Jn. 15:17.

The heart of the Christian message is love. God loves me! What is it like to live with this reality? If we could grasp God’s unconditional love for us, life would be radically a path of love. To accept that God loves me is also to accept the reality that God loves everyone else in the same way. I am called to love myself and others. And the Gospel makes it clear that the call is to love, in a special way, the poor, the excluded, the marginalized, and the voiceless. I am also called to care for the earth, “our common home,” that God has entrusted to us.

To live: “This is what I command you, that you love one another.”
