“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me…” Luke 4:16-30

It is the now of God who with Jesus makes himself present, becomes real, a love of mercy that does not wait for ideal or perfect situations for its manifestation, nor does He accept excuses for their realization. He is God’s timing that makes every situation and every space just and opportune. In Jesus, the promised future begins and comes to life. When? Now. But not all the residents of Nazareth were prepared to believe in someone they knew and had seen grow up and who invited them to put into action a long-awaited dream: “But isn’t this Joseph’s son?” The same thing can happen to us, too. We do not always believe that God can be so concrete, so everyday, so close, so present in a neighbor, a friend, a relative.
