“I will follow you wherever you go.” Lk. 9:57-62

At the end of this month, Jesus confronts us with the radical demands of following him. He teaches us that the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head, asking  of us freedom from material comforts and disordered attachments. Whoever puts his hand to the plow and looks back is not fit for the Kingdom. Following Jesus requires decisiveness, promptness and a fixed gaze forward. What excuses are we constantly making to postpone our real commitment to the Gospel? His call is urgent and pressing. Let us ask him to help us discover what we need to let go of definitively in order walk beside him with decision and freedom.
