“The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men.” Lk, 9:43-45

While everyone marvels at the miracles and wonders that Jesus performs, He does not allow himself to be dazzled by the momentary success. He clearly proclaims to his disciples the mystery of the pain and dedication that await him in Jerusalem. The disciples do not understand these words because they are afraid to accept a suffering Messiah. Do we today refuse to accept that the path of authentic love necessarily passes through sacrifice and renunciation? His redemptive dedication gives us courage. Let us ask him to help us discover how to face difficulties without losing hope in his resurrection and how to be ready to accompany him in the suffering of our most fragile brothers and sisters.
