“I beheaded John. Who then is this of whom I hear such things?” Lk. 9:7-9

Herod is bewildered by the news that comes about Jesus. His curiosity to see him is not born of a sincere search for the truth, but of the restlessness and remorse of his own tainted conscience. At times, we too seek God in a superficial way, looking for spectacles or magical answers, instead of an encounter that transforms our lives. Let us ask ourselves: what really moves us to seek the face of Jesus in our personal history?
