“We have played the flute and they have not danced, we have sung dirges and they have not wept.” Lk. 7:31-35

Jesus laments the attitude of those who always find an excuse not to commit themselves to God’s message. John the Baptist was rejected for his austerity, and Jesus is criticized for his closeness to sinners and his shared joy at the table. Sometimes, constant dissatisfaction and a critical spirit close us to the newness that God wants to give us. Let us ask ourselves; what prejudices prevent us from rejoicing with those who laugh and cry with those who suffer? His invitation to live the Gospel is always timely, let us ask him to help us discover how to tune our hearts to the melody of his love.
