“Blessed are the poor, for the kingdom of God belongs to them.” Lk. 6:20-26

The beatitudes are the heart of the Gospel and propose to us a path of happiness, which goes against the values of today’s society. Jesus calls the poor, those who weep and those who are hungry blessed, because God himself will be their comfort and their full justice. It is a direct invitation to put our trust only in God and not in fleeting riches. In what false material securities are we looking for our happiness and fulfillment? His proposal challenges us and fills us with hope, so let us ask him to help us discover how to live a greater poverty of spirit and that wherever we are, we will be able to share in solidarity with the most vulnerable.
