“These are my mother and my brothers.” Matthew 12:46-50.
We begin our reflection with Jesus’ question: “Who are my mother and my brothers? Jesus’ answer is radical: “All those who do the will of my Father.” His response is inclusive, where we all become brothers and sisters of peoples, races and cultures. We are the great family of God where there is no room for attitudes of exclusion, xenophobia, racism, violence and division; where fundamentalisms are not part of God’s love. Synodality invites us to be a Church of all and for all, where communion and participation are our identity. Are we part of an open Church, going out and on a journey with everyone?
