“Let them grow together until the harvest.” Matthew 13:24-43.

The parables of this Sunday’s Gospel are not only beautiful and profound, but they refer to our Christian horizon, our life that, from a small seed, and with the breath of life from God, is designed for growth. It is small and insignificant, like mustard, but full of potential life, a seed that, freed from all malice, becomes vibrancy like leaven. God, acting in our lives, comes to transform our being, from within, until it becomes the bush that welcomes and shelters the goldfinches. “This is God: He does not impose himself, but transforms, He does not dominate, but He attracts. And this is how those who collaborate in his project must act: as a ‘leaven’ that introduces his truth, his justice and his love into the world in a humble way, but with transforming power.” (Pagola) In what ways do we become aware of our growth in God, and that of others?
