“The kingdom of God has come.” Lk. 11:14-23
Jesus frees a man and, instead of joy, suspicion arises. Some do not deny the good done, but doubt the origin: they prefer to explain God’s action from a place of distrust rather than open themselves to faith. Jesus answers clearly: evil cannot overcome itself. Where He acts, the Kingdom of God is present. The Gospel ends with a demanding phrase: “He who is not with me is against me.” There is no neutrality in front of Jesus. Following him implies taking a stand, letting his power transform our decisions and our way of living because the Kingdom of God has come for everyone.
To accept Christ and his Kingdom is to let him overcome everything that binds us. Only with him, our life is unified and finds true freedom.
