The Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph
“Joseph got up and took the child and his mother to Israel.” Matthew 2:13-15. 19-23
Jesus’ proposal—based on the dignity of each person, solidarity with the most fragile, and the priority of love—collides with established logics that reward self-interest and normalize indifference. Furthermore, those who benefit from these systems tend to resist change like Herod, who felt his power threatened by a newborn. The Holy Family reminds us that good is cultivated in specific spaces; homes that, beyond their configuration, become refugees of respect, mutual care, and hope. There we learn to choose the human over the superficial, the eternal over the ephemeral. What prevents us from acting more coherently in our daily lives? How does Jesus inspire us to transform our relationships, our family and our small spaces of influence?
