“As a sign, you will find the child wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.” Luke 2, 1-14
The day of the Solemnity of the Birth of the Savior, of the Son of God, of Emmanuel, God with Us, has arrived. The incarnation of the Word reminds us that every human life has a sacred dignity and that we are called to build a history that leads to the plenitude of all. The first to receive the Good News were the shepherds, the most humble; thus, the birth of Jesus is now linked to Easter, to total surrender for love. This mystery invites us to look at our life and our world from the logic of God, from simplicity, gratuitousness, and hope. May every corner of this passage fill us with the deep joy of knowing that the Covenant of the Lord is fulfilled and renewed in us. How will we celebrate Christmas? With whom will we share this joy? In what way will we make the tenderness and peace of the Christ Child visible in our lives and in our environment?
