“God will do justice to his elect.”  Lk. 18:1-8

Today’s meeting is with the widowed woman, who goes to the judge solicitously so that he can do justice to her rival. The judge does not listen to her, not because he is a just man, but so that she will stop annoying him. For us, it is the invitation to review whether our prayers are profound encounters with the Lord, entrusted to his will and of a faith in expectation. There is only one requirement of our prayer placed in God’s hands, perseverance. He already knows what we need, but He wants us to ask for the Holy Spirit, namely: wisdom, strength, prudence, justice, and compassion. Prayer is effective when it makes us more believers and more human. “It opens the ears of our hearts to sincere listening to God” (Pagola).

Is our prayer trusting in God’s will…is it persevering?
