JESUS, SEED OF THE KINGDOM. Matthew 13:1-9
The parable explained to the disciples is understood as follows: the seed is Jesus and the different soils are human beings. The initial issue is that the Word is not deepened when it does not touch interiority (the seed that falls along the way). Others avoid caring for what they have understood of the Word because it has not reached the depths of the spirit (the one that falls on stony ground. Some pretend to listen at the same time to God and to others who seek their own interests, going after the deceivers of the day and making themselves sterile (what is sown among brambles). And, finally, there is the humble space, which welcomes with simplicity, listens and lives according to what is planted in its heart and thus is enabled to build community.
God sows in man so that he may bear fruits such as joy, justice, mercy, peace and forgiveness. All these works are what are needed today, and it is in them that the actions of Jesus are effective in history.
