Fifth Week of Easter

“Abide in me, as I abide in you.” Jn. 15:6.

Jesus offers us an example of the degree of the bond that He establishes with us, making us sharers in his life: the vine and the branches. This is a participation that is neither “automatic” nor passive. It puts our freedom at stake, and “provokes” us to enter into a dynamism that moves around two keys: “bearing fruit” and “remaining”.
