Ash Wednesday. “Repent and turn to me with all your heart.” (Jl. 2:12)
If you haven’t read it yet, let’s take the pope’s latest encyclical, Dilexit (He loved us!) and carefully study the first chapter on the Heart. It is a profound biblical anthropological reflection on the human condition, just what we need to turn our hearts to God, for this is what conversion consists of. It is worthwhile that, in this year of grace, in this Lent that begins today, we repeat many times, looking at the open heart of Christ: “He loved us”: “Contemplating the Crucified One”: “When I see you “Everything” on that cross //The body taken down // And I think, and I feel, // “Everything”, you gave yourself totally…Everything // I don’t know what tears overwhelm me inside // And I keep repeating, silently // “Everything” “Everything”.
