Matthew 21:33-43, 45-46

“THIS IS THE HEIR: LET US KILL HIM…”

God prepares his vineyard for us as a token of his gratuitous, faithful, and unconditional love. It is we who, sometimes out of envy, pride, or fear, seize this vineyard and annihilate God’s envoys. However, the Lord and His promises are far above our wickedness and miseries.

In this season of Lent, we are called to recognize that we are not masters of the life entrusted to us. Let us not believe this consumer society that, based on rights, makes us believe that we can easily put an end to it. We have received the necessary conditions to make it bear fruit, and we will be asked to account for the fruits that are expected of us.
