“They gather the good fish into baskets.” Matthew 13:47-53.

The Gospel of Matthew concludes the journey of all the parables, with the net cast into the sea, which catches fish of all kinds. The process or path of following in the footsteps of Jesus is to draw closer and closer so that we can resemble him; to have the disposition of availability in the hands of the One who can mold us, as, just as the clay in the hands of the potter. How many times does our clay not go as it is intended to be molded? How many bristles or edges have to be cut? But placed in God’s love, which is compassion, He restores us and waits for the times of our conversion. Life is that time of preparation, where we live as pilgrims and citizens of the Kingdom. And our pastoral task is to cast the net, catch every kind of fish, and let God act and separate the good from the bad.
