“Whoever hears and understands the Word will bear fruit.” Matthew 13:18-23.
Continuing in the line of parables and returning to that of the sower: “whoever hears the word of the Kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what is sown in his heart.” Jesus returns to the parable of the sower, to explain its meaning, but first He warns us, we must listen to understand and bear fruit. This is how, in order for the Word of the Kingdom to fall on fertile ground, and for tribulation, persecution, attachments, and the seduction of wealth not to spoil it, we need to live the Gospel with passion and become living parables. Does our life passionately announce the newness of the Kingdom?
