“Why had they not repented?” Matthew 11:20-24.

Jesus reproaches three cities: Chorazin, Bethsaida and Capernaum, for their lack of faith, response and commitment. Cities where he had given some signs, to which He also reproaches them for not having repented. If we do not remain faithful to the Lord, touched by the Gospel, we know that there is no conversion. It will be a fragile faith, that when adversity comes, we give up. It can happen to us like the flame of the campfire, if the fire is not stoked, it ends up going out. Faith does not depend on rational certainties, but on a profound union with Jesus and his Father. True faith stands firm in the darkness, with the certainty that even in difficult times, Jesus and the Father are present.
