Mt. 7:1-5 “God will measure them by the measure by which they have measured others.“
Today we return to the final chapter of the Sermon on the Mount, that discourse that Matthew puts on the lips of Jesus to help us understand how Jesus fulfills what He said: that He did not come to abolish the Law but to give it its full meaning. We know to what extent in this society of ours, the law continues to be the point of reference to judge everything, although many times the law is manipulated or interpreted in a biased way. Jesus continues to show us how we have no right to judge the other and how love for our brothers and sisters is the yardstick with which we have to measure their actions; To act like this we need to be aware that we are also fragile and fail, that many times our gaze on the other and their actions is conditioned by the speck in our eye and does not let us see that we also fail the same or more than the other.
