“I am the way, the truth, and the life.” Jn. 14:1-12

Jesus begins by giving peace and security to his friends: “Do not be anxious.” That peace comes from faith in God, from faith in him. As St. Teresa later said: “He who has God, lacks nothing.” And another reason to be sure: “I’m going to prepare a place for you, so that where I am, you will also be there.”  Jesus does not want to be far from his own, from those who love and follow him. And what is the way to get to that place? The way is Jesus himself. I… I am the way, I am the truth you seek, I am the life you long for. Everything is in him and in his Father to whom Jesus wants to lead us. The deepest desires of the human heart find an answer in it. To seek him, to open our hearts to him, to center our lives on the Lord, is the greatest wisdom. To live in him and for him and, his answers are not long in coming.
