Love and forgive, because God loves you and forgives you. Mt.18,21,19,1

Pedro returns to the stage, this time with an arithmetic question. And Jesus responds by jumping from a generous number to an indefinite one. Before God there are no debts great or small… It is as if He were saying to him: “As long as you keep track of the times you have forgiven, you have not entered into the dynamic of the Kingdom.”  The parable of the two debtors brings us to the human plane, as was Peter’s question. There we all have a reason for reflection. The human thing to do would be to forgive a small debt, because we have been forgiven another, much greater. The one who is incapable of forgiving others is not aware of God’s absolute and unconditional love for him. In today’s prayer, let us face this last truth: Those who have experienced the Father’s forgiveness and mercy cannot go around calculating the boundaries of forgiveness and acceptance of their brothers and sisters.
