“At that time the seventy-two returned very happy.” Lk. 10:17-24

The disciples return after having done the work that Jesus entrusted to them…that of announcing that the Kingdom is very close. The Gospel tells us that they arrived very happy and told Jesus what they did and how their words had power! Jesus listens to them attentively and invites them to rejoice in something greater, because “their names are written in heaven”. Jesus always wants to give us fullness, freedom, love, joy… in fullness. Being a merciful God, He has no other way of giving himself if not without measure, without conditions. Sometimes, it can happen to us like the disciples, we can be satisfied with small joys that do not allow us to discover the fullness to which He calls us. With the psalmist, let us ask him to “make his face shine upon us”, because only from him can we maintain that greater joy. Only with his light, can we live the life He gives us in fullness.
