GERMEN DE PAZ FOUNDATION – MEDELLÍN AND BARRANQUILLA
It is a foundation that seeks to strengthen human quality and awareness of personal and community value, through a daily task in favor of the changes that the environment requires to enrich personal life and the life of the country.
Activities are carried out such as psychological counseling, personal and community training for children, young people and mothers affected by political and intra-family violence. These are means by which they can promote the construction of new forms of coexistence, based on social and democratic participation.
It aims to reach communities exposed to precariousness in many aspects and to the armed conflict. It is intended to help people discover the value of themselves, and their meaning in the life of Colombia; the value of their land, and the opportunity to undertake alternatives to build a reliable and safe place with others.
In Barranquilla: In the neighborhoods of displaced people: Candelaria and Pinar del Río; In Antioquia; In Alejandria, Barbosa, Concepción, Marinilla, Cocorná (La Piñuela), Rionegro and San Luís. Most of the participants are from villages.
The Germen de Paz Foundation is projected for 2020 as:
An institution recognized in the field for the solidness of its proposals for intervention and education, for the creation of new opportunities for reconciliation and peace in the civic environment.
As an entity that aims for children, young people and mothers to assume a constructive position with themselves and with the environment so that they bring about attitudes and actions for the development of a dynamic committed to the establishment of a real democracy.
A practice that produces as results young leaders or agents of peace, motivated and well-prepared for community processes.
As an entity that enables the transfer of knowledge and tools that generate productive employment and rewarding lives.
As an organization involved with rigor and seriousness in the peace process that promotes a more equitable and egalitarian society in the relationship of genders, in opportunities and in coexistence.
