Lk. 13:22-30: “… Strive to enter through the narrow door.”
Today we find ourselves with a question that seeks figures or securities in the face of salvation. Jesus responds with a personal invitation: “Strive to enter through the narrow gate.” The question is not “how many”, but “how”. You do not automatically gain access because you belong to a people, have religious titles, or know the Lord by hearsay. Salvation does not depend on external formalisms, but on a decision, on a living relationship with Jesus and on the practice of works of mercy.
The Kingdom of God is open to all, even those who seemed far away, while those who cling to privileges and securities may be left out. To enter through the narrow door is to assume love, to live the faith in coherence, forgiveness, justice and service to those most in need. Do we seek the wide or the narrow door on the path of life?
